Hoda Kotb Reveals Picks To Replace Her On ‘Today’

Hoda Kotb Reveals Picks To Replace Her On ‘Today’

Hoda Kotb is revealing who she has selected to replace her on the hit morning talk show, Today. She announced her departure at the end of 2024 and officially left in early 2025. So, who would she choose to take over her spot? Keep reading for more details.

Hoda Kotb Reveals Her Picks To Replace Her On Today

When Hoda Kotb left her spot on Today with Jenna Bush Hager, the hit morning show was rebranded. Rather than get a permanent co-host to sit next to Jenna, NBC opted for something different. The show would be called Jenna & Friends, and it would just be a rotation of celebrity co-hosts. Some were relatives of Jenna, such as her twin, Barbara Bush, while others included Andy Cohen, Bowen Yang, and Savannah Guthrie. This has been fun for many viewers as they love to see who has the best chemistry with Jenna. More so, some of the guests really shine.

Now, Hoda is opening up about who she would like to fill her seat alongside Jenna. She appeared on the June 5th episode of WWHL and shared the tea with Andy Cohen. As aforementioned, he sat in her seat for a short time, but would she choose him to replace her? She soon shared a list of names that she would love to see:

“Anybody would be so lucky. But to me, the contenders are Savannah [Guthrie], I think she would be great, I think Justin Sylvester’s amazing, Scarlett Johansson crushed it — she said it was her favorite job — and Matt Rogers is great, and also our dear friend Sheinelle Jones, who’s going through a difficult time, I feel like she’d be good.”

Viewers have loved seeing Justin and Scarlett, but were not too keen on Savannah. Although they love her as an anchor, being next to Jenna Bush Hager was too much.

Ultimately, Hoda Kotb knew whoever got the job on Today With Jenna & Friends was incredibly lucky. However, she noted that it had to be someone who clicked with Jenna, and that would complete the puzzle.

    Do Fans Agree?

After Today viewers saw Hoda Kotb on WWHL, what did they think of her replacement choices? Were they on board with any of them, or did they have their own thoughts? Maybe it would be best to keep the hosts on a rotation so it never goes stale:

    • Erin Andrews should be a contender. I really enjoyed her time cohosting.
    • Justin Sylvester!!! How would anyone else possibly be better?!
    • Shenelle, please. Once she’s back in her feet…. We love her.
    • Not Savannah!! Pleeese no
    • Def sheinelle jones , they have probably been waiting for her to come back. it didn’t seem like they were putting in a replacement. They were just going to be calling it jena and friends but, I guess they are and I’ll bet you it’s going to be Sheinelle

Sheinelle Jones has been absent from her post to handle a personal family matter. Sadly, her husband passed away from a form of brain cancer, so she will be gone for far longer. Yet, when she comes back, she or Justin would be the perfect choice.

Who would you like to see sitting next to Jenna on Today, or do you like the rotation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
