Cynthia Erivo answers one of the questions on everyone’s mind after seeing Wicked: For Good: Does Glinda (Ariana Grande) know that Elphaba (Erivo) survived, or will she ever find out the truth? The second part of the cinematic adaptation of the Broadway musical finishes this iteration of the story of the two witches of Oz and their beautiful friendship.
Wicked: For Good‘s ending sees Elphaba faking her death and fleeing Oz with Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), while Glinda quietly deposes The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Glinda apparently believes Elphaba is dead as much as everyone else. In an interview with Variety, Erivo responded to lingering questions: “I don’t think she knows. I don’t think she knows at all. In fact, I would put my money on it that Glinda does not know that Elphaba is alive.“
