NFTs (non-fungible tokens), have become the newest platform for creative people, artists and entertainers to explore their love of their work. Every NFT is unique and authentic and can be anything from artwork, music, to virtual real estate. Technology plays a major role in their creation and the leading technologists in the field are the founders of NFT DROP, LLC.
The visionaries behind NFT DROP, LLC are Gil Laureiro (CEO), Stacy Toy (COO) and Rod Thompson (CTO).
NFT DROP, LLC has already earned a golden star in the NFT Galaxy, and are leaders in the NFT Metaverse.
Rod, what sparked your interest in NFTs?
Aside from the fact that an end user could own an item that can only be one of a kind on the blockchain, I also was very interested in some of the other uses for NFTs, such as real estate, where the smart contract would be used for the transfer of real estate or the even another great use case, for the purpose of domain name services on the blockchain where an end user unlike with traditional domain services and providers, like as example, GoDaddy where an end users registers a domain name for a certain period of time and then has to renew and NFT domain name owner not only doesn’t have to renew, but also can self-custody the domain on their own self custody resources. Completely decentralized is NFTs.
Rod, what inspired you to become connected with NFT Drop and Stacy and Gil?
What inspired me to engage Gil is his ability to use his experience in business development to cultivate an environment friendly to the advancements in technical innovation and what inspired me with Stacey is her recognized experience in the entertainment industry and her forward thinking.
Stacey, when did you first discover NFTs?
My late best friend got me into both cryptocurrency investing and NFT’s a few years ago. My friend, Bob Simkonis, struggled with a hard life and he dove head first into it not long after Bitcoin started really gaining speed. He was really good at stocks and investments for himself, so I asked him to teach me and help me learn how to invest. That was all right before COVID hit and the film industry just stopped. If it weren’t for my investments with my friends help then, I wouldn’t have been able to make enough money where my crypto paid my bills and provided for me and my family. With more time during the pandemic, I jumped into learning more about all things crypto and NFT. Unfortunately, in July 2020, my friend Bob ended up taking his own life. From that moment on, I was going to have no choice but to walk ahead into this new crypto world alone.
I spent the next year and a half really educating myself as much as I possibly could on NFT’s and Blockchain. It was finally in late October of 2021, our team naturally came together. My CEO, Gil Laureiro and my CTO, Rod Thompson have been such an amazing source of support and knowledge for me. I know that my friend would be looking down and very proud of all that I had put together.
Gil, what made you decide to get involved with NFT DROP, LLC?
It was a niche in the market, and I felt I had the right team and resources to be able to take advantage of a new business in the world. I looked at the market and saw that all the NFT companies were owned and ran by mostly programmers. The mixture that we had on our team was superior due to the different levels of business experience that we had with each member of our team. Rod, for example, is a technical expert and Stacey is a marketing expert, combined with my business expertise; it gives us a stronger position to compete in the marketplace.
Stacey, What do you see is the future for NFTs?
They are going to open a whole new doorway into investing, assets, education, life experiences, memorabilia, real estate, employment, opportunity, etc. The future looks bright with them, so anyone heading into that space should come wearing their sunglasses. 🙂
Rod, what do you see as a future for NFTs from a technical standpoint?
What I see for the future of NFT’s is a duplication of our traditional commerce that currently takes place either by brick and mortar or by WEB 2 over current internet infrastructure to become the norm in NFT environment or WEB 3, so if in the current environment an end user shops at Neiman Marcus that same user will be able to shop at a WEB 3 version of Neiman Marcus.
Rod, on a personal level what excites you most about an NFT?
What on a personal level excites me the most is knowing I am at ground zero of the NFT space and the evolution of its development. I know that I am a part of the new Internet.
Gil, What do you see is the future for NFT DROP, LLC?
I believe NFT DROP, LLC will be recognized as the ‘go to’ place for NFT’s. I feel we will be the authentic and reliable company that will be genuine to an investor’s investment. All of our NFT’s bring value to the purchasers and to the artists, as well as future buyers.
Stacey, what do you hope to see in the future for NFT Drop?
My whole life I’ve been told to take my “big crazy ideas” and “reel them back”…I was Stacey “Reel it back” Toy. I’ve finally found a place both here in the NFT space, in my work in Hollywood and the film industry where my ideas aren’t crazy. In fact, it’s a place where my ideas seem not crazy enough in many senses! The future for NFT Drop is everything that’s amazing and wonderful and scary. It’s whatever you want it to be and our creative juices continue to flow. It’s where we all collaborate and work together as a team to help bring others crazy ideas into fruition. I’m excited to see what’s next and I have no freaking idea what will be thrown at me next (considering some of the things I’ve already got cooking in the oven now!!)
