Best Stats & Nature For Clodsire
Clodsire has excellent survivability, and for its Tera Raid build, this should be taken into consideration. According to Game8, when preparing for the activity, players should EV (Effort Value) train the Pokémon’s HP stat to the max, investing 252 points in it. The other maxed-out stat should be Attack, with the four remaining points set to Special Defense. This EV distribution will help Clodsire stay along for longer while also putting out a great deal of damage. After this, players need to use one of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Nature Mints to change Clodsire’s Nature to Adamant.
Giving Clodsire an Adamant Nature will increase its Attack stat even at the cost of its Special Attack stat. As such, this Pokémon may equip the popular Leftovers item, making it recover HP at the end of every round. It is a consistent source of damage mitigation, though restored HP is limited to 1/16 of the user’s maximum HP. Another reliable option is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Shell Bell, although it requires Clodsire to deal damage to restore HP (⅛ of the damage dealt).
Best Tera Type For Clodsire
To reflect its best moves and stats, Clodsire’s build for Tera Raids requires it to have a Ground Tera-type. Although this will likely only be put into action in the later stages of the Tera Raid encounter due to how long Terastallization takes in these higher leveled activities, it will further intensify its Ground-type STAB (Same-type attack bonus). For other more specific builds, Clodsire could have a Poison Tera-type in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but the best for most occasions is, undeniably, a Ground Tera type.
Best Moveset For Clodsire
To wrap up Clodsire’s build for Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids, players should start concerning themselves with its moveset. Game8 recommends that it knows Yawn to put the opponent to sleep in the early stages of the fight. This should be followed up by the Ghost-type Curse, which will boost Clodsire’s Attack and Defense stats while lowering its Speed stat. Its spammable offensive move should be the Ground-type Earthquake, and its last move should be Recover to help it restore HP that Water Absorb and Leftovers do not handle on their own.
The only main issue for this Clodsire Tera Raid build is that Curse and Recover are some of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Egg Moves, which requires the Tera Raid Clodsire to have been a Wooper bred from a Clodsire and a specific Pokémon with Mirror Herb. If players want to avoid this whole alternative process and maybe show off a Shiny Clodsire they captured through a Wooper Outbreak, they can substitute Curse and Recover for a few other moves.
