How To Solve The Mogawak Shrine In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Shrine called Mogawak in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom challenges players to use water in its environment to solve a puzzle about an uncharged Zonai battery. Although seemingly simple on the surface, there are deeper parts of this Shrine that gives players multiple rewards if they are clever enough.

Mogawak Shrine can be found at the (3298, 0424, 0112) coordinates, or around Zora’s Domain to the southeast of Zorana Skyview Tower. The Shrine is a little off the beaten path, closer to Lanayru Great Spring along the waterways near the Zora’s Domain settlement. Since there are so many Shrines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players should be careful not to mix up this location with Makasura Shrine, which has a similar spelling.

How To Solve The Mogawak Shrine In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The entire purpose of Mogawak Shrine is to recharge a Zonai battery lying directly under a basket elevator, seen straight from where players enter. There are areas to the left and right, as well as stairs leading up to the basket that players can use to enter the basket at any time. The first thing that players must do is use Ultrahand, one of Link’s new abilities in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, to grab the uncharged battery.

Players have to charge a Zonai battery by placing it on a pedestal and using a wooden plank to spin a makeshift water wheel from under a waterfall on the right path from the start of the Shrine.

Taking the battery to the right leads players to a small body of water with a tiny waterfall, with a small pedestal to place the battery on facing up. A small square wood plank also sits in the water, which players can attach using fusion from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom onto a small wheel connected to circuitry traveling to the pedestal. The goal here should be to charge the battery along the circuits by using the wheel to generate power.

By using Ultrahand to move the plank on the wheel under the waterfall, players will send the device spinning, especially if they placed the other plank to the opposite of one already attached. From here, a continual amount of motion charges the battery completely. Taking the battery back to the basket and placing it on a similar pedestal generates power to send players up on an elevator to the end of the Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Solve the Other Puzzle of Mogawak Shrine

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Mogawak Shrine Puzzle with Two Orbs the Disperse Electricity in Water

Although players can complete the Shrine from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by finishing the first puzzle, the path to their left from entering this area hosts another challenge. A larger body of water here has two orbs underwater restricted by chains. The gate on the other side is locked, but may be opened by placing the charged battery on a pedestal at the starting point of the water.

Here lies the problem: players cannot swim across while electricity courses in the water from the battery. Players have to move both orbs with Ultrahand close to each other, then link them together by attaching one of the wooden planks from the last puzzle to the two objects. This disperses the electricity, making it safe for Link to swim along the edge toward the open gate, which leads to a hidden reward from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

    Rewards From Solving Mogawak Shrine

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Opal Item Given from Optional Chest in Mogawak Shrine

There are two chests within Mogawak Shrine, one at the end of the second puzzle and another hidden underwater in the small body of water on the right path. The underwater chest has a magic scepter that players may use to fight the evils infesting Hyrule, while the reward from the second puzzle is an Opal. This Material may be sold for a high price, or used to upgrade certain armor sets such as the Zorah Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

However, the biggest reward from Mogawak Shrine is a Light of Blessing without a doubt. Trading 4 Light of Blessings at a Goddess Statue in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom grants players a much-needed upgrade to Link’s stamina or health.
