Signs Olivia & Ethan May Be Headed For Divorce

Signs Olivia & Ethan May Be Headed For Divorce

Welcome to Plathville’s Ethan and Olivia hit a rough patch in their marriage, moving to Tampa to work on things, but they may be headed for divorce.

Ethan and Olivia Plath have had a lot of ups and downs in their marriage over the course of Welcome to Plathville, but there are signs that they may end up divorcing. From communication issues to dealing with Ethan’s overbearing parents, the pair hit a breaking point in season 3 but agreed to continue working on their relationship. After moving to a new city, Ethan and Olivia are trying to fix their problems, but some fans say they are just running from them and they may still end their relationship.

Ethan and Olivia were newlyweds on Welcome to Plathville season 1, and it was immediately clear that Ethan did not have his parents’ approval with marrying Olivia. As Barry and Kim Plath raised Ethan and his eight siblings in a strict household, where they were not allowed to consume sugar or watch TV and movies, they did not appreciate Olivia introducing him to new things. Olivia was with Ethan the first time he drank a Coke, had a sip of alcohol, and even watched Christmas movies, which he was never allowed to in his childhood. While Moriah Plath’s relationship with her parents improved greatly over three seasons of Welcome to Plathville, Ethan’s got significantly worse with his parents.

Barry and Kim have been at the heart of most of Ethan and Olivia’s problems on Welcome to Plathville, as he felt like he was forced to choose between his family and his wife, and she felt that he did not stand up for her enough. It did not help that when Ethan and Olivia moved, they were still essentially neighbors with his parents. Things came to a head in season 3, when Ethan and Olivia found themselves constantly arguing with each other and drifting apart. Ethan wanted to stay in their small town of Cairo, and Olivia had her sights set on a bigger city.

Ethan and Olivia went on a rollercoaster during season 3, as they attended marriage counseling, and Olivia even moved out at one point. By the season finale, the couple decided to move to Tampa and continue working on their issues. Though Welcome to Plathville fans were excited that they were able to make up, the season 4 premiere still had signs that they might not make it.

In Welcome to Plathville season 4, Ethan and Olivia were still at odds, with Olivia saying Ethan reverted back to his bachelor ways and left things dirty around the house. They also have the added pressure of Olivia’s brother and Ethan’s sister all living in one house with them. Though Ethan and Olivia have given some Welcome to Plathville fans hope that they can make their marriage work, even fun activities like roller skating down their street ultimately led to arguments and blaming each other when they fell. Olivia even said that though they were looking for a fresh start in Tampa, they may have just brought all of their problems with them to a new state.
