Steal These Easy Stranger Things Looks

Stranger Things features custom-designed wardrobes with the perfect 80s inspiration. Fashion is so woven into the series, that true fans can spot an outfit and easily match it to the appropriate Stranger Things character. The designer behind the show’s iconic style said she watched a lot of 80s movies for inspiration. The show’s success has spilled over into the real world, and 80s fashion is back in a big way, and here are some easy ways to steal the best looks for yourself.

    SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

What Makes Nancy’s Look So Classic

Nancy is known for her classic stripes, sweaters, and button downs, giving her a cute and casual look. But, did you know she simply mixed basic pieces in order to achieve her put-together style?

You can copy this style when you stick to your basics. Match your favorite sweater with a good pair of black jeans and boots for an effortless look. You can also spice things up by adding a ribbon to a collared shirt or high-neck sweater for a subtle nod to Nancy.

When the weather turns colder, a red fitted Sherpa-style trucker jacket and a fun turquoise sweater will add a pop of color. If you prefer to stick to the basics, you can finish your look with a camel wool coat similar to the one Nancy wore while fighting monsters with Jonathon in season two.

    Jonathan’s Grungy Style

After moving to California with his mother, brother, and Eleven, Jonathan embraced his new life by making new friends, which reflects in his style. In season four, Jonathan was seen in more relaxed shirts and clothing, with psychedelic patterns and lots of colors.

However, if you preferred Jonathan’s edgier side, you can’t go wrong with a flannel and denim jacket. This look was worn by many characters on the show, so it fits well with the show’s stylistic theme. It’s simple to pull off, gives you an edgy vibe, and the layers are perfect for fall weather. Pair it with some chunky boots, and you’ll be looking your 80s best.

    Eddie Rocks

We can’t talk about edgy, cool vibes without mentioning Eddie Munson’s rock-star outfit that he wore throughout season four. Simply layer a vintage sleeveless denim jacket over a leather jacket to achieve this look. Don’t forget your Hellfire club baseball shirt along with some pins to tie everything together perfectly.

    Dustin Wears His Personality

Dustin expresses himself through his clothes. We see it in everything he wears, from his Hellfire shirt, which represents his club, to his different hats. If you want Dustin’s look, be prepared to wear A LOT of colors, because if there’s one thing he’s not afraid of, it’s mixing multiple colors and patterns.

The designer also admitted that most of Dustin’s t-shirts had designs on them so that Dustin could doodle on them in class, making it a perfect custom for little kids who get bored easily.

    No Shoes No Problem

Argyle quickly became famous for his colorful hippie look after being introduced in season four. This style is so easy to pull off that almost anyone can do it, and it’s probably already in your closet. Simply pair your favorite merchandise tee with a colorful patterned shirt and baggy sweatpants. And don’t forget to mix two different pairs of shoes, so you don’t have to choose between your favorites.

    Second-Hand Style

In the last season, we saw Eleven in a lot of men’s clothes, which she probably got from her stepbrothers, Jonathan and Will. This off-screen continuity is on display when we see her in the blue striped rugby-style shirt and sweatpants, or the flannel that she layers over a floral print waffle shirt. Match her style by choosing darker colors, and masculine or uni-sex designs with boxy lines. Eleven has some of the best looks in the whole show, so have some fun recreating her style.
