    James Solis’ move to Indonesia for his wife, Meitalia Solis, was documented on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way season 6, but his story didn’t end there. James, an elevator mechanic from Maine, first met Meitalia on a dating site. After a quick engagement, the couple married and Meitalia moved to Maine to be with her new husband. Their emotional story helped viewers understand how isolating it can feel to be an outsider in a new country. Meitalia struggled to adjust to life in America, which James experienced once he arrived in Indonesia. In addition to cultural and language barriers, James and Meitalia faced other unexpected obstacles that forced them to rethink their plans.

    James Left His Stable Job To Seek Medical Treatment For Meitalia In Indonesia

    90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6 focused on James and Meitalia’s preparations and eventual move to Meitalia’s home country of Indonesia. Their move seemed rushed and ill-prepared, with the couple not telling even their closest loved ones about their plans until days before they left. James was concerned about leaving his job with no opportunities awaiting him in Indonesia and little savings. He ended up staying in Maine for several weeks to continue to work and save money, while Meitalia traveled home alone.

    The couple’s financial problems weren’t their only concern. James had a troubling habit of withholding information from Meitalia, and days before her departure, Meitalia’s friend revealed that James never wanted to have children. Once they were reunited in Indonesia, James and Meitalia had to grapple with both her family’s judgment and their own mixed feelings about their future together. Meitalia eventually admitted she would accept not having children, but her emotional state suggested she would always feel like she was leaving something behind.

    Ultimately, James and Meitalia’s money problems caught up with them.

    After their traditional Indonesian wedding ceremony, they were forced to move back to America so James could resume his old job. Meitalia was heartbroken at the prospect of leaving her family behind once again, but she prioritized her marriage and followed James back to Maine.

    James Brought Meitalia’s Sister To America

    James & Angel Had A Rocky History

    James decided to ease Meitalia’s transition back to life in the States by bringing her sister, Angel, to visit. He paid for Angel’s visa and allowed her to stay in their house. While this provided much-needed companionship for Meitalia, James’ fraught relationship with Angel made him understandably anxious about her extended visit.

    Angel blamed James for getting engaged to Meitalia quickly and bringing her to America. In retaliation, Angel spread rumors about James to the rest of her family. Although the two attempted to patch things up on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Angel clearly still held a grudge against James. While it was noble of him to make sure his wife had family around, James’ decision to invite Angel may add to the friction in his marriage.

    During the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell All, many of James’ castmates warned him that bringing Angel to stay with him and Meitalia could be detrimental to their marriage. It was obvious that Angel resented James, and she always assumed the worst of him. The cast suspected Angel would try to turn Meitalia against her husband, and with no date set for her return to Indonesia, her visit could drag on much longer than planned. However, James understood that his wife needed her family, and he was willing to sacrifice his own happiness to make her comfortable.

    James Launched A Music Career

    He Released Two Singles In 2024

    James launched his music career by releasing two singles in 2024 under the name MT Sounds. “Another Day” was released in September. In November, James announced the debut of his second single, titled “Calling Me.” He proudly shared that his music is available for streaming and purchase on iTunes. Later, in December, he also added a Christmas single to his discography.

    After the devastating 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles, James and Meitalia shifted their business focus to raising awareness and funds for those who have been displaced. The couple announced on their joint Instagram page that they would be donating proceeds from Meitalia’s jewelry line to relief efforts. James and Meitalia used their appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6 to bring attention to their respective businesses, and they’re now using their fame to help people in need.

    James’ time on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way had the unexpected benefit of expanding his social circle. James is a self-proclaimed nature lover, and in December 2024 his costars Sean Heffernan and Joanne DiGesu joined him and Meitalia for a hiking trip in New Hampshire. The couples climbed an impressive mountain, which James captured with stunning footage from his drone. James wrote in the caption, “Hanging out with some of the 90Day Family.”

    James is clearly on good terms with many of his other cast mates. Sarper Güven, Corona Blakey, and Statler Riley all commented their support on James’ post about his new music.

    James may not have always made the best decisions, but he was a likable figure on the show. His easygoing personality led to fast friendships with his costars, who could relate to many of the struggles he endured.

    James and Meitalia’s move to Indonesia on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way didn’t go as they expected, but the couple appears to have worked through many of their issues. They seem happier than ever together, and Meitalia looks to be in good health. With a new music career potentially on the horizon, it’s possible that viewers haven’t seen the last of James and Meitalia.
