2025 Fall Decor Trends to Make Your Home Warm and Welcoming

Transitioning my home from summer to fall is my absolute favorite. There’s a certain calm that fills me as I settle into new routines, tuck away warm weather essentials and bring out heavier throws and fall decor. It can be tempting to go wild with decorative pumpkins and faux foliage, and while there’s nothing wrong with seasonal decor, you don’t have to go all pumpkin spice to capture the cozy. There’s a chic and unfussy way to infuse your home with autumnal feels.

The fall decor trends for 2025 blend tradition with reinvention. After spending the summer outdoors, now is the time to add warm colors, vintage-inspired decor, and cozy layers to your home. That way, you’ll never want to leave once the temps begin to dip. Ahead, discover the decor trends you can expect to see everywhere this season, and the ones I’m personally trying myself.

    Warm Minimalism

Warm color palettes are synonymous with fall. They exude warmth and comfort—two things we crave as we head into cooler weather. Paired with minimalism, this decor trend is all about staying cozy while keeping your space streamlined and uncluttered. Resist the urge to pack your surfaces with stuff. Warm minimalism is all about embracing simplicity and uncluttered space while keeping things cozy with color and texture.

To achieve this calm and homey vibe, stick with warm earth tones and natural materials. Layer ambient lighting and textures to create a calm, yet sophisticated fall atmosphere at home.

    Floral Prints

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. But what about fall? The star print of the summer was definitely stripes, and it’s hard to ignore the amount of cozy, classic floral prints I’m seeing for fall. Floral print throw pillows, either for your bedroom or living room, is a perfect way to add classic, rom com-inspired charm to your home this autumn. Other more traditional fall prints are still here as well, like plaid and stripes, and block floral prints fit right in with them. If you’re hoping to recreate Meg Ryan’s apartment in You’ve Got Mail, you’ve got to get your hands on some block print florals.

    Silver

Metallic finishes are nothing new, but I’ve always associated brass and gold with fall. But this season, silver is making itself known. It’s no surprise you may be seeing more nickel and chrome decor hitting the shelves—the silvery hued metallic is definitely trending. It’s especially striking amidst the sea of warm colors, and is the perfect way to add something unexpected to your own home this fall.

This trend is less about swapping out your hardware and more about adding pops of silver to your space. Think silver trays, chrome catch-all dishes, or a silver bedside lamp. With all of the vintage-inspired trends happening as well, a pop of chrome is a fun way to modernize your space.

    Vintage Decor and Furniture

Secondhand pieces and vintage-inspired decor are two 2025 fall decor trends I’m a huge fan of. We’re collectively looking to infuse our spaces with soul, and that can only come from pieces that have been around for a while. Whether you’re shopping at estate sales or digging through your garage, giving your home a fall makeover with secondhand pieces has never been more popular. There’s an appeal to shopping for items that have a history—it automatically adds character and depth to our spaces you just can’t get from a big box store.

I personally love finding treasures at estate sales. Almost all of my hosting supplies are secondhand, and my most unique decor is thrifted. It’s a sustainable, cost-effective, and now trendy way to shop for your home.

    Rich Color Palettes

Warm minimalism embraces neutrals, but there’s still plenty of room for rich, deep color palettes. Cool tones have been on the outs for years, and beyond autumnal neutrals—deep plums, mustards, and forest greens are adding depth and drama to our spaces. If bold colors make you wary, rest assured there’s no need to color drench your living room deep purple. You can balance deeper tones with warm whites, and a pop of color can add sophistication and breathe new life into a space that’s ready for a seasonal makeover.

    Lots of Texture

When it comes to good design, layering textures is everything. It keeps a space from falling flat, and this season’s trends are filled to the brim with them. Statement tiles, ornate marbling, and beautiful stones are all popular right now. If you don’t have a kitchen or bathroom remodel on the horizon, however, the texture moves beyond stone surfaces. In addition to a marble dish on the coffee table, you can add texture with fall branches, cozy throws, velvet pillows, fresh florals and yes—a pop of silver. As you’re refreshing your home for fall, be sure to include a variety of textures to keep your space interesting and inviting.

    Art Deco Style

This summer, I fell in love with a small vintage seashell serving dish. Not even thinking about the resurgence of art deco style, I scooped it up and brought it home. According to Pinterest’s fall trend report, art deco style is back in a big way.

Shiny materials, geometric shapes, and vintage-inspired decor are everywhere. This is a fun style to play with for fall—if you’re ready to shake things up a bit, consider adding dashes of art deco decor to your vanity or desk. Statement lamps and furniture are also a dynamic way to add a sense of opulence and luxury to your space. Have fun!
