Is Suitsupply the Best Place to Buy a Suit in 2026?

Is Suitsupply the Best Place to Buy a Suit in 2026?

We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. Any products or services put forward appear in no particular order. if you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation.

Suitsupply’s Vigo Street store is within touching distance of Savile Row. Rather fitting for a brand whose suits come remarkably close without having to cross the road, or spend the same sort of money.

Of course, this isn’t bespoke, and nor does it pretend to be. The craft is a skill honed over generations, with good reason for its reputation. What is impressive, though, is just how much Suitsupply brings to the table.

And the appeal isn’t limited to Custom Made. Suitsupply’s ready-to-wear range is equally strong, with proportions more commonly found in the hands of a good tailor.

Broader lapels, higher-rise pants, and a more distinctive silhouette give its suits a greater presence than your average off-the-rack offering. The kind of details that’ll earn a nod of approval while swinging by Dorothy’s—the Row’s newest all-day cafe—for a morning double espresso.

    Custom Made by Suitsupply

If the idea of designing your own suit sounds like hard graft, Suitsupply makes it all rather more straightforward. The Custom Made service puts a plethora of choices in your hands, from cloth and construction to the finishes that make a suit unique. There are more than 700 Italian fabrics to work with, spanning from everyday wool and linen to cashmere, silk, and seasonal seersucker.

You can do it in store with the help of Suitsupply’s experts, or work through the process online. Choose everything from buttons and pockets to linings and waistband details. Your measurements can also be saved to a personal Size Passport, making future orders rather less of a faff.

And with suits designed, made, and delivered to your door in just two to three weeks, the whole process is a long way from the traditional tailoring appointment. In fact, you could do it all without leaving the house.

    Ready-to-Wear

Of course, you don’t have to design anything at all. The ready-to-wear collection offers enough to get stuck into. There’s dark gray checked double-breasted suits, navy Havana styles cut from all-season pure S110’s wool, and plenty in between. The palette is broad and the fabrics varied. Something for everyone, you could say.

The mid-blue Milano is the one I keep coming back to. A striking double-breasted design, the padded shoulder gives it presence, while the half-canvas construction lets the cloth settle naturally across the chest. The pants are high-rise with a straight leg that’s wider than your run-of-the-mill pair. Perfect for accommodating loafers or a chunkier boot.

    Three Suits for Fall

Fall is a great time to buy a suit. Once Starbucks puts the pecan cortado back on the menu, tailoring really starts to earn its keep. There’s more to play with, from heavier cloths and deeper colors to fuller pants and a little more shoulder.

Here are three I’d happily make room for:

Mid Brown Tailored Fit Milano Suit

Brown suits are having a moment. They have all the seriousness of their black counterparts, but with a little more mischief. This double-breasted option is a particularly good example, with a padded shoulder and fitted shape up top, balanced by high-rise wide pants that give the leg a little more room to breathe. It’s a strong silhouette, but the brown keeps it from becoming too severe.

    Black Relaxed Fit Roma Suit

Tailoring has become more relaxed over the past few seasons. Not only is this good news for anyone attempting a crowded commute, but there’s something to be said for clothes that let you move freely. We’ve been here before, of course. Armani was loosening things up in the ’90s, with softer, more fluid tailoring that looked every bit as elegant without all the stiffness.

The Roma picks up that idea in a more modern way, with a roomier cut through the chest and shoulders, but enough structure to keep its shape. Finished with pants that run straight through the hip and thigh before a subtle flare at the leg. It feels easier to wear and, frankly, just more comfy. This will be one I turn to throughout the fall and beyond.

If one suit was going to epitomise cold-weather tailoring, this would be it. The warm brown check, with its cream, black, and green flecks, has that slightly mottled, textured quality that looks better the closer you get to it. Woven in pure wool with a basketweave texture, it’s weighty without becoming cumbersome, while the relaxed fit and natural shoulder keep things easy.

There’s a touch of the country in it, enough to feel at home among the hedgerows, but you certainly don’t need to take it there. Throw on a shirt and tie and it works just as well at a wedding or around the executive table. Better still, it’s the sort of suit that earns its keep beyond the two-piece. Break up the jacket and pants, and both pieces have plenty of life beyond the suit.
