Muse Rock Through Power Problems In Set For 2026 Tour Kick-Off

Muse blew the power during their July 2nd opening date for their North American summer tour at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, which featured a set of songs from their new album mixed with the band’s time-tested material particularly from their 2000s albums Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, and The Resistance.

The celestial rock band kicked off the 24-song set with the live debut of “Hexagons,” the third single from their latest album, The WOW! Signal, before going into one of their biggest hits, the bass-line driven “Hysteria,” smashing together the new and the classic from the band’s catalogue. “Cryogen,” another single from their newest release, preceded “Supermassive Black Hole,” yet again a Muse classic side-by-side with a tune from this year.

“Resistance” came before “Unravelling,” and, fitting with that title, the show unravelled for a moment. The power on the stage went out. Singer and guitarist Matth Bellamy chuckled and walked off stage in the darkness, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, before the momentary outage was fixed, and the band kicked back in.

During the midway section of the set, Muse blasted through “Stockholm Syndrome,” “Psycho,” “Plug in Baby,” and ended this middle portion with “Time is Running Out.” The latter part of the set began with “Uprising” followed by “Knights of Cydonia” and ended with “Undisclosed Desires” and “Starlight” before an encore of “Take a Bow.”

With the near two-hour set, Muse played five songs from The WOW! Signal and a combined 11 songs from Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, and The Resistance.

The band starts “The WOW! Signal Tour” proper on Sunday July 5th in St. Louis at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. The band hits Cincinnati, Toronto, Tinley Park outside Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas among other cities. They end the tour August 31st in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl.
