Queens of the Stone Age are unveiling another single from Perfecth, their upcoming album, and this one seems right up Drake’s alley: “Where the Goth Girls At?” Waxing nostalgic about his teenage years in a Palm Desert suburb, Josh Homme sings about young love and the urge to impress others to win their affection. “Watching the goth girls working the counter at JCPenney and giving goth makeovers to the old ladies, that’s when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at,” he said in a press release. “Teenage love, ain’t it grand?”
The song’s music video takes things a bit further. Directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski, it spotlights a deserted power plant where goth girls rule supreme, demand authority, and convert everyone they meet into their ultimate vision, complete with excessive black ink. It stars members of Queens of the Stone Age, comedian Steve Agee, dancer Scarlett Kapella, and singer-actress Lou Lou Safran. Watch it below.
“Where the Goth Girls At?” follows the previous Perfecth singles “Insignificant Other” and “Easy Street.” The full album is out October 30 via Matador. Queens of the Stone Age continue their fall tour tomorrow in Louisville, and will stay on the road before flying to Japan and Australia for additional shows.
