DeSantis Rips Media For Sparse Coverage Of Murder Attempt On Justice Kavanaugh

DeSantis Rips Media For Sparse Coverage Of Murder Attempt On Justice Kavanaugh

On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed Democrats and their cohorts in the media for the sparse coverage and attention paid to the recent assassination attempt on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Last week, a California man armed with a gun, knife, pepper spray, and zip ties was arrested outside Kavanaugh’s home. He told police he was upset about the possibility of Roe v. Wade being overturned and the lack of gun control.

At a time when Democrats are yelling about “insurrection,” DeSantis laid out exactly what is happening, and why things might be a bit different if the Justice threatened had a different ideological bent.

Gov. @RonDeSantisFL on the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh:

“The silence is deafening from a lot of our media outlets on this… I can only imagine if the shoe was reversed… There’s no place for that type of behavior in American society.” pic.twitter.com/6tzEJVYlqN

Trying To Change SCOTUS Decisions Through Intimidation

Gov. DeSantis did not hold back in his assessment of not only what those on the left are doing to intimidate Supreme Court Justices, but the media’s lackadaisical attitude toward the story.

“I think that we have a rule of law in this country, and you don’t get to just have a mob descend on Supreme Court justice’s house or try to impede the operations of government because there may be a decision you don’t like. That would be considered an insurrection to stop a court from functioning, and yet they seem to be able to get away with a lot more than if the shoe were on the other foot.”

DeSantis was not done with the lack of coverage by the media.

“You had someone travel from… halfway around the country to come and murder Justice Kavanaugh. And that was like not even significant news in a lot of the mainstream media. They’re trying to change the outcome of decisions that they are concerned that they don’t like, and that is just totally antithetical to the rule of law.”

The coverage that is occurring, is sometimes downright strange.

The problem is not that a pro-abortion extremist was willing to assassinate a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, you see.

The problem is that conservatives are making a big deal of it!

This headline from The Hill implies that Kavanaugh’s “home” was under threat, not the living person, Justice Kavanaugh: “Conservatives pan media coverage of threat to Justice Kavanaugh’s home”

    Credible Threat

The threat to Justice Kavanaugh’s life was not enough for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to bring a proposed bill to the House floor for a vote that would strengthen security for Supreme Court Justices and their families.

The bill had been passed unanimously by the Senate weeks ago.

Pelosi brushed off the assassination attempt on Thursday by saying, ‘no one is in danger over the weekend.’

Psaki said the POTUS “encourages protests outside judge’s homes.”

Schumer said he’s “OK” with protests outside SCOTUS homes

Pelosi lauded protesters’ channeling their “righteous anger into meaningful action”

The ‘Right Kind’ Of Protests Continue

Despite the very credible threat to Justice Kavanaugh and his family, protesters have vowed to continue protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices, and there is no attempt to stop them, even though many argue that protesting in front of a Justice’s home is itself a felony.

One of the offenders is a pro-abortion group called “Ruth Sent Us,” referring to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The group is targeting conservative Justices, including Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who they believe will overturn Roe v. Wade.

In a tweet last week put out by the group, they announced their plans to continue protests outside Kavanaugh’s home again later that evening.

Yes, it will. We’re protesting peacefully at his home again tonight.
