Frustrated Climate Activists Say ‘Extreme Tactics’ May Be Necessary To ‘Save The Planet’

Frustrated Climate Activists Say ‘Extreme Tactics’ May Be Necessary To ‘Save The Planet’

As the 2022 midterm elections get closer, the problems for Democrats just keep mounting. The latest one may come in the form of radical climate activists, who say that the governments of the world are not taking action fast enough, and that they may be forced to resort to “extreme tactics,” even violence, in order to ‘save the planet.’

In an interview with Fox News Digital, climate activist Ken Ward says such activities might be warranted if, “there’s political gridlock and all the ordinary processes aren’t working.”

    Recent Activities

Among some of the recent activities of the climate alarmists include halting new pipeline construction, scaling buildings, blocking rush hour traffic, lighting themselves on fire, slashing the tires of random SUV’s in cities around the world, disrupting the Congressional Baseball game, and a personal favorite, gluing themselves to famous paintings.

Ashley Thompson, a senior climate campaigner with Greenpeace USA, stated, “We cannot continue to wait around for a bunch of corporate shills in Congress to do nothing while people are dying.”

Greenpeace itself has engaged in what they call “direct actions.” These have come in the form of scaling a building that hosted a major conference in France, blocking a ship leaving a Dutch port, and climbing a North Sea deep sea mining vessel.

For his own part, Ward and his merry band of climate alarmists, who have dubbed themselves, “Valve Turners,” in 2016, disabled a pipeline carrying crude oil from Canada to Washington state, and also in Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota.

    The Dreaded ‘Climate Clock’

The Climate Clock was invented in 2020. It is an online mechanism that claims to highlight how long humans have left to limit global warming. The Climate Clock algorithm set the date for any action limiting global warming at 1.5 degrees Celsius for roughly July of 2029. On Friday, the clock moved from seven to six years. The group marked it as the first “Climate Emergency Day.”

Greenpeace has also announced that, if world governments do not act based on the Climate Clock, but also Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports, then they will be, “forced to do so.”

Another group known as the “Tyre Extinguishers,” a group out of the U.K. has targeted various cities in the U.S., U.K., and other parts of Europe, where members deflate the tires of random SUV vehicles. The group also told Fox News Digital that they plan on “expanding massively” within the upcoming months.

Sen. Manchin Catches Heat From The Left

Earlier this month, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) put the brakes on President Joe Biden’s extensive climate change agenda, and also raising taxes on wealthy Americans and businesses during a time of soaring inflation, although Manchin stated that he is not a definite “no” on the deal.

The climate alarmists were beside themselves. The New York Times describes some Democrats reactions to Manchin’s decision. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was “shellshocked.” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) was “outraged,” and added that it was, “our last chance to prevent the most catastrophic … effects of climate change.”

Former senior advisor to former President Barack Obama, John Podesta seemed to channel the mellow-dramatics of AOC and stated,“It seems odd that Manchin would choose as his legacy to be the one man who single-handedly doomed humanity.”

The media has done its best to jump in and sound the alarm as well. On Friday, the Washington Post headline read, The Earth Wants Biden to Keep Gas Prices High.” Earth was not available for comment, but the theory is that if gas prices remain high, Democrats and the left can force Americans to buy electric vehicles, or pay low-income Americans subsidies to ride public transportation.

President Joe Biden may not be immune to the wrath of climate alarmists. Last week, White House officials said he was considering declaring a climate emergency, but has yet to do so.

Varshini Prakash is the executive director of the Sunrise Movement, a grassroots organization. He stated that Joe Biden may be known as, “the president who condemned my generation to an unlivable world.”
