Liberals Lose Their Minds, Female Lawmakers March and Chant After Joe Manchin Sinks Abortion Bill

Liberals Lose Their Minds, Female Lawmakers March and Chant After Joe Manchin Sinks Abortion Bill

Verified liberal accounts on social media were melting down and female lawmakers broke into a chant of “my body, my decision” following the sinking of a Democrat bill to expand abortion by Democrat Senator Joe Manchin.

Manchin announced earlier in the day Wednesday that he would not support the legislation, having voted against it already in February.

He later followed through in helping to block the effort formally.

Manchin blasted the bill, saying it was a misnomer to portray it as Democrats have as a codification of Roe v. Wade.

“Make no mistake, it is not Roe v. Wade codification. It’s an expansion,” he explained to reporters. “It wipes 500 state laws off the books — it expands abortion.”

Manchin added, “We should not be dividing this country further than we’re already divided.”

The attempt to ‘codify’ Roe v. Wade would have needed 60 votes to pass – which it had no chance of doing. In fact, it failed to garner a simple majority, being voted down 49-51.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer knew the bill had no shot but stated his intentions to get Republicans on the record as opposing abortion rights.

Along with Manchin, pro-choice and moderate Republican Senators Susan Collins (ME) and Lisa Murkowski (AK) voted against the legislation.

Every single Senate Dem except for Manchin just voted to advance an appalling monstrosity of a bill that goes far beyond “codifying Roe” or being pro-choice. Every vulnerable D incumbent voted yes (including the pastor) and “pro-life” fraud Bob Casey. Fortunately, they failed.

The ire from the left was squarely on Manchin, however, after he once again proved a voice of reason in a sea of liberal reactionary outrage.

Author and political analyst Jared Yates Sexton said Joe Manchin’s vote against the radical abortion bill wasn’t simply about his “cruelty” and “disregard of … lives,” it’s that people with differing viewpoints are even allowed in the Democrat Party at all.

The problem isn’t just Joe Manchin’s cruelty and disregard of the lives and fates of Americans or that he’s bought and sold several times over.

It’s also that there’s room within the Democratic Party for Manchin and the many others like him.

    — Jared Yates Sexton (@JYSexton) May 11, 2022

Imagine a person so far adrift that they think being opposed to the expansion of abortion makes you someone who ‘disregards lives.’

‘How dare you not get on board with killing babies! That’s so cruel!’

Activist and ‘pro-choice pastor,’ John Pavlovitz, called Manchin a “national tragedy.”

Democratic strategist Adam Parkhomenko claimed Manchin was little more than a “corrupt Republican scumbag.”

Talk show host and CNN contributor Andy Cohen called the Democrat Senator from West Virginia an acronym for “piece of s***.”

Joe Manchin is a POS. Ok now back to #RHOBH

    — Andy Cohen (@Andy) May 12, 2022

Joe Manchin said he would’ve switched parties if Thune was leader. He’s a corrupt republican scumbag who doesn’t give a damn about anyone but his donors. Period.

    — Adam Parkhomenko (@AdamParkhomenko) May 11, 2022

    .@Sen_JoeManchin is a national tragedy.

He will be forever remembered as a coward and a grifter who irreparably damaged millions of lives for his own financial gain.

    The worst of us.

Democrat Women Stage A March and Chant ‘My Body, My Decision’

Perhaps the most entertaining display of outrage towards Joe Manchin’s vote on the abortion bill was provided by female Democrat lawmakers – which included members of the House Progressive Caucus – parading through the chamber and chanting “my body, my decision.”

Some of the lawmakers engaging in the juvenile chants were Representatives Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and Carolyn Maloney (D-NY).

Geez, they can’t even get that right.

The chant has been “my body, my choice” for decades now. If you start wantonly adding syllables to simplistic phrases like that, liberals are going to get lost trying to keep up.

While Schumer is seeking to get Republicans on record, this vote gets Democrats on record as supporting a bill that, as Manchin says, expands abortion.

This legislation that was knocked down allows abortions up until birth and would force Christian doctors to perform abortions, even if they object on moral or religious grounds.
