Megyn Kelly Torches Joe Rogan For Drinking Bud Light After Dylan Mulvaney Scandal – ‘He Doesn’t Get It’

Megyn Kelly lashed out at Joe Rogan on Thursday for defiantly sipping on Bud Light during his “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast earlier this week.

    Rogan Drinks Bud Light

Why does @joerogan pretend to not know what the budlight boycott is really about? He’s openly against Dylan mulvany and the destructive influence he has on kids but still “drinks” budlight. @joerogan is scared to fully take a side in the culture war. #jre pic.twitter.com/SUMngnnFzH

The New York Post reported that while interviewing the country music star Zach Bryan on Tuesday, Rogan cracked open a Bud Light to toast him.

“We’re drinking Bud Light, ladies and gentlemen,” Rogan proudly declared. “Sooooorry.”

Rogan and Bryan then agreed that the backlash that Bud Light has been hit with since teaming up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for an ad campaign earlier this year amounted to “silliness.”

    Kelly Fires Back

Kelly, however, was not having any of it.

“Joe Rogan [is] on the wrong side on this one — popping open a Bud Light, dismissing the whole controversy,” Kelly said on her eponymous SiriusXM show. “This is the second time he’s done this…[He’s] not getting it.”

Kelly then explained that the highly effective boycott of Bud Light stemmed from the recognition of the “transgender movement as an attack on femininity and an attack on femaleness, which is exactly what it is.” She added that she was glad to see that Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch has lost nearly $40 billion in value since the Mulvaney collaboration.

“I’m enjoying watching them suffer, not gonna lie,” Kelly said, going on to add that it was “too late” to save the brand.

Not stopping there, Kelly proceeded to call out the Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth for not expressing any remorse.

“The CEO of Anheuser Busch, he’s not sorry at all,” she said. “He’s only sorry that it turned into a controversy for him. Most of us wouldn’t be caught dead having a Bud Light now for very good reason. It endorses a whole set of values that we do not support.”

    Backlash Against Bud Light

Bud Light’s popularity has been declining ever since the company teamed up with Mulvaney, 26, for an ad campaign and gave her a personalized beer can to celebrate her “365 days of girlhood” back in April. The next month, Anheuser-Busch sent out a letter attempting to distance itself from the controversy.

“This was one single can given to one social media influencer,” the letter read, according to Daily Wire. “It was not made for production or sale to the general public. This can is not a formal campaign or advertisement.”

“Anheuser-Busch did not intend to create controversy or make a political statement,” the letter continued. “In reality, the Bud Light can posted by a social media influencer that sparked all the conversation was provided by an outside agency without Anheuser-Busch management awareness or approval.”

Unfortunately for Anheuser-Busch, however, this did nothing to stop the conservative boycott of Bud Light.

“Bud Light’s missteps felt like a betrayal to both its liberal and conservative customers, and that trust is going to take months, if not years, to rebuild,” Daniel Korschun, an associate professor of marketing at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, recently told The New York Times.

It’s safe to say that Bud Light has learned the hard way that “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed. In the end, Rogan might want to listen to Kelly, because he really does seem to be on the wrong side of history on this one.
