Watch: Democrat Flips Off GOP Lawmakers, Left-Wing Protesters Arrested at Congressional Baseball Game For Charity

A Democrat congresswoman flipped off some of her Republican colleagues and left-wing protesters were arrested at the annual Congressional Baseball Game for charity Thursday.

The protesters, addressing the so-called climate emergency that keeps them up at night, blocked one of the entrances to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., where the game played between lawmakers was hosted.

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested at least three people for unlawful entry, according to NBC News.

Individuals in the group were seen holding signs which read: “This is a climate emergency” and “Democrats: Seal the deal on climate!”

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) on three climate protesters arrested at the Congressional Baseball Game:

“They are doing more harm than good … Even those that would sympathize with their cause, they look at them and say, ‘You’re kinda stupid.’” pic.twitter.com/bKBLDSqmIc

Representative Linda Sanchez (D-CA) flipped off her Republican colleagues on the opposing bench as she trotted to the dugout in the sixth inning.

After drawing a walk, Sanchez was replaced with a pinch runner. As she jogged off the field, she looked back at the Republican dugout and expressed her feelings.

It’s unclear if somebody from the Republican dugout had said something to her that prompted the response. The Congressional Baseball Game is a charity event to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of DC.

Without having heard the details behind the incident, I’m going to take perhaps an unpopular stance. Sanchez is being lambasted all over social media for her actions. The term ‘classy’ was even trending on Twitter at one point.

But I can envision a scenario in which, up by five runs at that point, somebody in the Republican dugout may have joked about the lead or something along those lines and Sanchez responded with a salute saying, ‘We’re number one.’

It’s all just speculation, but if that’s the case, it’s actually a pretty amusing in-game exchange.

Republicans ended up winning the game, 10-0, a metaphor for the pending midterm elections if ever there was one.

Democrats just got BLOWN OUT by Republicans 10-0 (!!!) in the congressional baseball game.

A sign of things to come in November.

    2017 Shooting

The Congressional Baseball Game has been considered a rare source of unity in a bitterly partisan city, raising money for charities throughout the years and even being cited as a source of hope following the shooting at a practice session for Republicans in 2017.

The shooter, James Hodgkinson, was an avowed leftist who happened to be carrying a kill list of Republican lawmakers in his pocket as he shot up the field.

Senator Rand Paul later revealed that Hodgkinson was motivated by GOP efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare, shouting, “This is for healthcare!”

Four people were shot that day, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and U.S. Capitol police officer Crystal Griner.

Scalise was left in critical condition and received multiple blood transfusions and underwent several surgeries before being listed as ‘fair’ a week later.

Rand Paul says media hid key detail about Democratic terrorist James Hodgkinson: “When he came on the field with a semi-automatic weapon firing probably close to 200 shots at us, shooting five people and almost killing Steve Scalise, he was yelling ‘this is for healthcare!” pic.twitter.com/E9VQ8EDpHs

Sanchez herself was featured in an ESPN column regarding the Congressional Baseball Game and how it brings Democrats and Republicans together following the shooting.

“We’re going to show resiliency,” she said. “That we’re not going to let the bad guys or the crazies interrupt our lives. We need to pull together and show we’ve got grit.”

Here we are just five years later flipping people off midgame and watching protesters try to break in and get arrested. Unity isn’t quite what it used to be.
