Looking Glass 65 is World’s Largest 3D Holographic Display, Supports 8K Resolution

Looking Glass 65 is World’s Largest 3D Holographic Display, Supports 8K Resolution
Looking Glass 65 is now the world’s largest 3D holographic display at 65-inches, and it supports 8K resolution to boot. The company partnered with Springbok Entertainment to make it a reality in hopes of giving 3D storytellers the ideal canvas to push the boundaries of immersive experiences.

This holographic display solidifies the mainstream opportunities and applications of the immersive medium, while also effectively offering a missing piece of the puzzle for the industry, that in turn, will hopefully accelerate its entire growth. Its currently five times larger than any other 3D holographic display ever demonstrated, boasts a 16:9 aspect, and has a color depth of over a billion colors. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability. Google’s Project Starline uses similar technology, but for video conferencing.

ViewSonic VA1655 15.6 Inch 1080p Portable IPS Monitor with Mobile Ergonomics, USB-C and Mini HDMI for Home and Office

    • ULTRA-PORTABLE MONITOR: Weighing just under 2 lbs., this 15.6-inch portable monitor can be easily packed and taken with you wherever you go
    • 2-WAY POWERED USB-C: With dual USB-C Ports, the VA1655 can deliver data, audio, video, and power over a single cable, with laptops able to power the monitor via two-way power
    • ENHANCED-VIEWING COMFORT: Flicker-free technology and a blue light filter provide all-day comfort
    • USB C: Connect video, audio, data and power with a single USB-C cable and plug in peripherals like USB drives and mice with the USB hub
    • FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY: The VA1655 supports laptops, PCs, and Apple/Mac operating systems with Mini-HDMI 1.4, and USB-C inputs

One of the most frequent questions we get asked is, how large can these displays get? The answer is now a ridiculously huge 65 inches, and this is only the beginning. Similar to the shift from photographs to film, radio to television, and black & white to color over the past century — the Looking Glass 65 will usher in one of the monumental shifts in how media is consumed — from flat 2D media to deeply 3D. No headset or 3D glasses required,” said Shawn Frayne, CEO at Looking Glass.
