A year after Mel Owens‘ journey came to an end during the Season 2 finale of The Golden Bachelor, fans are curious whether he and his final pick, Peg Munson, are still together, especially since she rarely posts about their relationship on social media.
On After the Final Rose, Mel confirmed to host Jesse Palmer, “I found the one.” He also flat-out revealed, “I’m in love with her. What’s not to be in love with?” Peg agreed, adding, “I’m in love with him, 100%.” In late September 2026, Peg appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Golden Hour with Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles, clearing up where she and Mel stand today.

What happened during Mel’s season finale?
Mel’s journey came to an end during the November 12, 2025, finale of The Golden Bachelor Season 2. After Cindy Cullers self-eliminated because Mel told her he wasn’t ready for an engagement, the 66-year-old former NFL star made things official with his other remaining woman, Peg.
Prior to the breakup with Cindy, Mel spent the night with Peg in the fantasy suite. Once Cindy left, Mel paid the retired firefighter a visit in her hotel room, where he opened up to her about what happened and assured her that he still wanted them to be together in the end. She then got the chance to meet his sons, Lucas and Andre, before they reunited at the final rose ceremony.
There, Mel gave the 62-year-old a ring to symbolize his commitment to her. She accepted, reciprocating that commitment. This was all filmed over the summer, though, so where do Mel and Peg stand now? Scroll down for what we know.

“I have a ring. This represents our commitment to love, to give us time to figure out, together, what our future holds,” Mel said when he presented Peg with the jewelry. She replied, “I agree. I think it would be absolutely wonderful. We’re on the same page with that.”
Palmer asked the couple if a proposal is on the horizon, and while they didn’t discuss their plans, Peg explained why they’re OK with taking things slow. “Being in your 60s and going through life, you get to write your own love story,” Peg said. “And we’re on the same page. That’s a love story we get to write the way we want to do it, continue to grow our love, continue to spend time with our families. That’s the nice thing about being in your 60s and golden years, is doing what you want to do with that connection you have with somebody.”
