On Thursday’s episode of Good Morning America, co-anchors Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts welcomed back a beloved former GMA anchor. In a special segment, the show presented several ways to maximise their health with different things they can do in their lives.
Here is who GMA welcomed back and what she had to say in her appearance on Good Morning America.
GMA Welcomes Back Former Anchor For Health Segment
Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts revealed to fans that a former GMA host was returning on Thursday for a segment about health issues. That former co-anchor was Dr. Jennifer Ashton, and she was there to give some helpful advice to viewers at home.
Michael was very excited to see Dr. Ashton returning to the show. “Welcome back, doctor. It’s good to see you,” he said as he hugged her. Robin then called Jennifer a “very good friend” as she welcomed her back to the show. Ashton joined CBS as a correspondent in 2009 and then went to ABC in 2012.
She started appearing on Good Morning America in 2012 and joined the daytime talk show The Doctors in 2013. In 2020, she co-hosted GMA3: What You Need to Know. She was the third doctor to be the chief health and medical editor and chief medical correspondent for ABC News and Good Morning America and the only woman in the spot.
In June 2024, she left ABC News when her contract expired and launched her own wellness company, Ajenda.
What Was Dr. Jennifer Ashton Back For On GMA?
One of the things that Dr. Jennifer Ashton discussed on her GMA appearance was resetting her life after leaving the morning talk show. “After getting up at 4am every morning, I need a reset in terms of my health and wellness,” she admitted.
Ashton also said that she wanted to be healthier at 55 than when she was 35. She began sharing her findings on Instagram, and people asked her to share what she was doing with them. She then discussed her wellness company and the Ajenda 8-Week Wellness Experiment.
Ashton said that most people live unhealthily for more than 20 percent of their lives. She partnered with Dr. Korey Rowe to create the wellness, fitness, and nutrition program. This program is specifically for people over 50 who are looking to get into shape and improve their health.
Fans were excited to see Dr. Ashton back on GMA:

- “Legends in action—this made my morning already!”
