Nikki Garcia Files For Divorce From Artem Chigvintsev After 2 Years
It was clear that Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev were not going to reconcile after he was arrested for domestic violence on August 29th. Though he claimed she threw shoes at him, the Barmaggedon hostess stopped wearing her wedding ring. There was also talk of how the couple had gone to counseling a few years back and then, they were no longer living together. He was not on the pro dancer roster for Season 33 of DWTS. Before this incident occurred, he was not listed as a pro but it is unclear what role he may have played had he not gotten arrested.
Artem proceeded to remove Nikki from his Instagram bio. He had her listed as his wife along with a link to her page. That was taken off and then put back on September 7th. It was unclear if he had hope or if they really were trying to make it work. Eventually, it was alleged Nikki was looking for a divorce attorney and now, according to People, she has officially filed. Nikki filed on Wednesday, September 11th in Napa Valley, California. The duo celebrated their second wedding anniversary just days before he was arrested.
Artem wrote a sweet tribute to Nikki Garcia, saying:
