The View Hosts Demand Drastic Action Against President Trump, ‘It’s Time!’
President Trump was in Davos, Switzerland, this week to give a speech at the World Economic Forum. He spoke at the summit for over an hour. A large portion of his speech was about his desire to purchase Greenland. He claims that the U.S. needs Greenland for national security reasons. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but has its own government.
After previously hinting that he might take Greenland by force, President Trump assured leaders at the World Economic Forum that he wouldn’t use military force to take the country. Despite his assurances, the hosts of The View blasted his speech. They questioned President Trump’s mental fitness after the long speech, during which he confused Greenland with Iceland several times.
“25th Amendment, it’s time!” Whoopi Goldberg said on Tuesday’s episode of the talk show. Sunny Hostin sought to clarify her co-host’s meaning. “To that point, Whoopi, you would be in a lot of company. You believe at this point that the president of the United States may not have his full faculty?”
Whoopi Goldberg said she has felt that way for a while, with Joy Behar chiming in to call the speech in Davos the “cherry on the cake.” Whoopi Goldberg added, “There’s been a lot of cherries on the cakes. There have been several. The cherries on this cake are enormous. There are so many. The lines in the sand. I mean, it looks like a stamp there’s so many lines in this.”
The 25th Amendment came about after President Kennedy’s death to create a clear guideline for succession in the event the President is killed, incapacitated, or deemed unfit for office. Section 4 of the 25th Amendment allows the Vice President and Cabinet the power to declare a President unfit for duty and remove them from office.
Alyssa Farah Griffin Offers ‘Dose Of Reality’
Section 4 has never been used, though there were calls to remove President Trump during his first administration after the January 6th riots.
While Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg declared it was “time” to invoke the 25th Amendment, Alyssa Farah Griffin brought them back to ‘reality.’ Alyssa Farah Griffin worked for President Trump during his first term, but announced that she didn’t vote for him in 2024. However, she pointed out that he won’t be removed from office for one simple reason.
“As a dose of reality, his Cabinet is squarely with him,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. Whoopi Goldberg replied, “And it’s time for them to go, too!”
