The View Fans Hope For Massive Changes In New Year
New Year, New View? As many people make resolutions for the new year, fans of the ABC talk show took to social media to share the changes they want to see on the show. When Season 29 of The View started in September, it seemed to make a huge change in the guests invited. A shocking report about the previous season indicated that the ABC show rarely had Republican or conservative guests. That began to change with the latest season.

The hosts welcomed Republican U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene in November. Her appearance was so successful that chatter began about her joining full-time as a host once she leaves Congress in January. Regular host Alyssa Farah Griffin is expecting a baby and will likely be on maternity leave for a while.
But fans want more changes than just a wider range of guests. They took to social media to share their wish list for 2026.

- “More hot topics, more debates, fewer monologues, more Joy – always more Joy!!”
- “More of Joy’s Comedy Corner and bring back Question of the Day with the celebrity guests!”
- “I would like the m-f shows to be more laid back like the weekend show”
- “Less obvious hatred would be nice.”
- “It’s time to find a moderator who has the skills required to moderate a panel. Whoopi is the wrong person for the job – something that’s been painfully obvious from the start.”
- “Whoopi retiring (respectfully)”
Fans Offer New Direction For The Show
But one fan had a more drastic idea: What about a whole new show called “View Within a View” that dissected the Hot Topics segment in a new and exciting way?
“There should be a YouTube Channel that is made up of five women… and one gay man whenever one of the female panelists is out- that solely just does Hot Topics of that weeks episodes of the View,” the fan suggested.
But their idea had a twist. “Where they don’t comment on the topics that the women on the show discuss but more about how things were discussed and the dynamics of the table in that particular moment.”
The idea of adding a man – even a gay man – was immediately shut down by another fan of The View. “The View doesn’t need men. It’s fine without men. If anything, the closest person who would be appropriate would be a Transwoman, that’s an actual POV I’d love to see, even as a guest host,” they wrote.
The odds of The View adding a trans co-host in this political climate are slim. Tell us in the comments what changes you want to see in 2026.
