Tia Mowry recently received some news from her doctor that left her emotionally distraught. She went in for some routine check-ups which came back abnormal. Mowry has a family history of cancer and she was very upset by the news. Tia recently divorced and has started her newest project, a docuseries that follows her life. Her latest production, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, has been extremely successful. This show airs on Friday nights on WEtv.
Tia Mowry Receives Bad News
In a preview of Tia Mowry: My Next Act Mowry is shown receiving a phone call from her health care provider. Tia recently had a routine mammogram, which normally isn’t a big deal. Her doctor called Tia to inform her that the results were abnormal. The 46-year-old actress did not know how to respond. The individual on the phone says…
“We got your results back in from your mammogram and your results have come back abnormal,” the woman explains as Mowry stares in shock “What that means is that we’d like to schedule you to come in for a biopsy as soon as possible so we can get some further insight.”
Ti Mowry did not know how to respond to this news. She said “Um…I don’t know, hold on. I’m sorry, Oh my God.” Tia informed her provider that she needed some time to process the news and would call back to schedule the biopsy. You could tell that she was obviously upset by the news that her mammogram came back with an issue.
Ciara Rodriguez Tries To Calm Tia Mowry
Ms. Mowry’s assistant, Ciara Rodriguez, attempts to calm Tia as she freaks out over the phone call.
Ciara tells Mowry “I don’t want you to worry too much. Let’s just get the appointment on the books and see.”
Tia responds through tears “I feel like right when I’m working on my mental health because of what I’m going through, now this. Another situation. This is my health.”
Ciara Stresses “Let’s not jump the gun. They didn’t say that you have cancer. Let’s not self-diagnose.”
Mowry shared later in her confessional, “I have been doing so much to take care of my mental health. I’ve been meditating; I’ve been journaling, but I’m scared. I don’t know what to expect.” This is a scary situation that she just didn’t know how to handle. Rodriguez also addressed the situation in her confessional. She says…
“When we’re in a situation like this, I’m always gonna be that sounding board. Get it out. It’s better out than in. She has an amazing team of doctors, a very well-rounded team of doctors and there’s no need to worry.”
Tia Mowry has lost several family members to cancer in recent years. This is likely contributing to her strong reaction to the news that her mammogram is abnormal. Mowry lost her grandmother to cancer five years ago. She also lost her aunt to cancer, only a year ago. With her family history, Tia needs to make sure she follows up with her medical team. This all is a terrifying situation that she needs to handle. Hopefully, she will give fans an update on her show about the results.
