The question of what the government should do is the most fundamental in any society. What should government do is the fundamental question that political discourse in the United States revolves around.

Donald Trump’s second administration has brought an equally important question to the forefront.

    Who should government work for?

According to the Founders and more than two centuries of history, the government should operate with the well-being of all in mind.

When Donald Trump returned to the White House, he ushered in the country’s first presidency that has been of, for, and by the billionaire class.

As a result, Americans who aren’t rich have been left behind. Inflation is high, programs have been gutted, and the opportunities for economic advancement are very limited.

Rep. Jamie Raskin is traveling the country on a tour campaigning for Democratic candidates.

On Wednesday, Raskin was in Michigan, where he said, “ One party, our party, says the government must be an instrument for the common good and the public well-being for every person in the country, and the other party says the government is an instrument for the private self-enrichment of one guy and his family and his businesses and the corruption of the government. It’s time for us to take America back from MAGA.”
