Jake Pavelka Announces Surprise Engagement
Jake Pavelka had a very public engagement on The Bachelor, followed by a very public breakup. But 15 years after the reality show, he’s found love again. The pilot, 48, is engaged to his girlfriend of two years.
The former reality star gave PEOPLE magazine an exclusive look at his proposal. The outlet reported that the couple got engaged in November but is just going public with the news. Jake Pavelka is happily off the market and engaged to his girlfriend, Aimee. The couple met on Bumble and she had never watched his season of The Bachelor.
“We went and had a great dinner and laughed and had champagne. Then we took an Uber back to our apartment. I had rose petals on the ground and a table set up with candles,” Jake Pavelka recounted about proposing in their Dallas, Texas, home.
He got down on one knee and proposed. He shared his now-fiance’s reaction. “She kind of gasped and then muttered yes. It was sweet and intimate. I definitely made the right choice keeping it private. It was a really special moment.” After having a public engagement, he wanted to keep things on the down low for a while.
After his engagement to Vienna Girardi ended, Jake Pavelka took a step back from Hollywood. “I would say it’s one of the more meaningful things I’ve done. So yes, I stepped away from Hollywood and built a garbage company,” he said about his waste removal company.
