    What To Know

    • Inde Navarrette mocked Shane Gillis’s controversial comments about women’s gym attire during her SNL monologue.
    • Discussing her upcoming role as Rogue in an X-Men film, Navarrette joked that she wore a “little whore outfit” to work out.
    • The monologue also featured SNL cast members showing off Halloween costumes, including Jeremy Culhane as Wolverine.

Inde Navarrette blasted Shane Gillis in her brutal Saturday Night Live monologue.

On the Saturday, October 31 episode of SNL, theSuperman & Lois actress took aim at Gillis, who hosted the NBC sketch comedy series on October 10. The comedian faced backlash for his controversial remarks about women dressing “like whores” to work out at gyms.

“You probably know me from the movie Obsession,” Navarrette, 25, began her monologue. “And a lot of people ask me if I’m anything like my character, Nikki, and I’m like, ‘No.’ …Like, my boyfriend is here tonight to support me. We have such a chill relationship. Right, honey?”

The camera then cut to a man duct-taped to a chair giving a thumbs-up.

Next, Navarrette brought up her upcoming role as Rogue in X-Men. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m going to be in a Marvel movie,” she said, as the audience cheered. “And I know it’s really important for Marvel that you get really fit. So I’ve been working out a lot.”

Navarrette then quipped, “So every morning, I put on my little whore outfit, and I hit the gym.”

To that, the crowd clapped and cheered loudly.

Gillis made waves during his October 10 SNL monologue when he bluntly pointed out, “I haven’t been to the gym in so long, I didn’t know women just dress like whores now?”

He added, “You’ve seen the shorts? They’re those neon, like, artificial bait-colored [shorts], and the wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look! You’re not allowed to look.”

Additionally, Navarrette’s monologue featured her helping the SNL cast show off their Halloween costumes.

Marcello Hernandez dressed as a “sexy TSA agent,” while Kam Patterson channeled Elizabeth Holmes from the documentary You Can See Everything. Meanwhile, Jeremy Culhane dressed as Wolverine to pitch himself for the role in her MCU film.

Finally, Veronika Slowikowska and Grace Reiter were Kelly Clarkson and the toy bird from the American Idol winner’s viral feud with a Brooklyn gift shop.

Saturday Night Live, Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC
